All JAHA articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License, and copyright is retained by the author(s). The Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited and is not used for commercial purposes.
Authors grant the JAHA a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely as long as its integrity is maintained and its original authors, citation details, and publisher are identified, and it is not used for commercial purposes.
The JAHA Open Access Agreement formalizes these and other terms and conditions of publishing research articles.
For instances where funder mandates require the use of a Creative Commons Attribution License license, accommodations can be granted as exceptions to the above requirement.
